Its Christmas time!!?? Where the hell did this year go!!?
I remember when Christmas school holidays felt like they would never end, now I'm 30 years old talking about the " Good Old Days". Haha
Well its been another whirlwind year for us at Overexertion.
Starting out with myself, I quit a stable, long term, safely employed job of 13 years to allow me to be more flexible to focus on making more bad ass clothing. While Kristian relocated the whole family to Connecticut to play a solid season with the White Plains Wombats. This cemented his place in the USA Hawks side and to compete in the recently played Rugby League Wold Cup. Wearing the number 6, representing the USA Kristian left everything on the field and despite the teams greatest efforts they did not advance past their tough pool of opponents, which included Fiji, Italy and Papua New Guinea.
Now back on Aussie soil our killer team of Athletes were business as usual. With Jayden "Cranky" Crank making a return to the bike after a long lay off due to Injury. it is great to see him back spinning bars and working on his craft.
The Prolife Cycles Team of Steve Grace and Mitchell Torrens covered some serious ground this year with their BMX racing. Travelling as far North as Townsville and as far south as the iconic Bathurst.
Ally better know as @ajhumps tripped back and forth to Melbourne perfecting her gymnastic skills, adding to her ever growing list of skilled manoeuvres. Also jumping at the once in a lifetime opportunity to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. Taking our grey OE beanie to the top of one of the worlds great landmarks.
Dylan King the Weapon on a Wakeboard shred all year round. Although still in school Dylan, like all pros commits all his spare time to practise, Which takes place at the Wake park at Bli Bli on the Sunshine Coast. Which reflected in his results this year winning multiple comps throughout the year.
Robby the human wedge lifted ALL the weights this year. With a new interest in nutrition and a sweet top knot cut, he constantly pushed his own physical boundaries, which I didn't think was possible considering his traps are the size of my arms!!
On the topic of human specimens, our boy Jake Douglas aka. the snake has been lifting any other weight that is left over after Robby is done. Training for the 2018 crossfit regional's Jake looks and performs less of a human and more like a scientific laboratory experiment! Between this and running his own crossfit gym in Tamworth "Snake Crossfit" he still has time to be apart big part of the OE crew!
Last but it would be foolish to say he is the least is Reuben "El TORO LOCO" Aiono. This 38 year old killer, going on 25 had his best year as a pro boxer to date. 4 wins form 4 fights, all arguably fights of the night at each event. This mans energy, unwavering determination, mental strength and straight work ethic is un match by anyone we have ever met. I sometimes think his energy alone fuels our company! Specialising in everything from grocery shopping to fuel a family of 5, ping pong championships, fight camps in Thailand, home renovations, and personal training. If it is humanly possible Reuben has either tried it or would like to.
So thats just a quick wrap of this year. Keep your eye on our social media pages and follow some of these legends on their journey also.
Also sign up to our news letters because we send out discount codes before they are released to the general public.
Have a great Christmas and make the best gift you give, a Overexertion gift
